Founding
& Early Years
Wm. B. Saleh Co. is a third-generation family painting business that traces its roots back to 1949, when it was founded by William B. Saleh Sr. After spending time pursuing opportunities in other parts of the country, Saleh Sr. returned to his hometown of Fresno, California to raise his family and saw a need for a quality-focused painting company in the area. With a commitment to excellent service and workmanship, he opened the company’s doors that year in Fresno.
In 1958, William B. “Bill” Saleh Jr. joined his father in the business, learning the trade and helping the firm grow. As the company expanded, Bill Jr. took on more responsibility and eventually assumed leadership in 1970 when his father retired. This seamless transition set the stage for continued family leadership and growth in the decades to come.
Multigenerational Leadership
Under Bill Saleh Jr.’s guidance, Wm. B. Saleh Co. prospered through the 1970s, cementing its reputation for quality. In 1979, the company opened a new office and shop complex at its current Fresno location to accommodate continued growth. The following year, Bill’s son, Mark Saleh, joined the firm full-time, becoming the third generation of the family to enter the business.
Father and son worked together throughout the 1980s and 1990s, during which time the company expanded its market reach beyond California’s Central Valley. Wm. B. Saleh Co. took on projects in neighboring states like Nevada—and as far away as Texas, Florida, and Alaska—demonstrating its ability to deliver quality work on a broader regional scale.
By 2001, Mark Saleh had taken over day-to-day operations, with Bill mentoring him through the leadership transition. Even after passing the torch, Bill remained actively involved. To this day, Mark continues to build on his father’s legacy. He is joined by partner Chris Osburn, who leads the company’s Bakersfield office, and Nathan Guevara, who leads the Marina office—both contributing to the firm’s leadership team.
This multigenerational leadership structure has ensured that the core values instilled by the founder—integrity, quality, and service—have been upheld consistently for over seven decades.
Regional Expansion
To better serve various regions of California, Wm. B. Saleh Co. established branch offices in addition to its Fresno headquarters. A Bakersfield office was opened to extend services to California’s southern Central Valley and has played a key role in numerous projects throughout the area.
Similarly, the company expanded to California’s Central Coast by establishing a presence in Marina (near Monterey). This branch enables the firm to serve residential, commercial, military, and industrial clients throughout the Monterey Bay region.
This strategic regional expansion—through multiple offices—has allowed Wm. B. Saleh Co. to respond quickly to customer needs across a broad geographic area, all while maintaining the family business values that have defined the company since its founding.
